In this season of the IPL, we are introduced to two new teams. They are not only led by the best franchise but also packed with powerful players. One is the LSG (Lucknow SuperGiants) and the other is the Gujarat Titans. In this article, we will give you a brief introduction to both teams.
Lucknow SuperGiants
The Lucknow SuperGiants (LSG) is a cricket franchise team based in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. They will be members of the Indian Premier League from 2021 onwards. The franchise plays its home game at the Prasad BRSAVE Ekana cricket stadium in Lucknow. The team is led by KL Rahul, who is coached by Andy Flower.
The RPSG group, which previously controlled the rising Pune Supergiant franchises from 2016 to 2017, will take over the squad on August 20. The premier league governing council released a tender for two more teams. 22 corporations expressed interest, but due to the high base price for the new team, there were only 6 genuine offers.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India permitted each franchise to be bid on by a group of 3 corporations or people. With a bit of Rs. 7090 crores, the PSG group secured the rights to manage the Lucknow franchise. In January 2022, the team held a competition to name itself, with the Lucknow SuperGiants emerging victorious.
The franchise selected KL Rahul as their skipper ahead of the IPL 2022. He gets a mega auction of an amount of 17 crores, marking him the league’s joint highest-paid player. Marcus Stonis and Ravi Bishnoi were also selected by the franchise as eminent players.

Gujrat Titans
Gujarat Titan is an Indian Premier League licensed cricket team headquartered in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. It debuts in the 2022 season. Gujarat Titans’ home ground is Narendra Modi Stadium in Motera, which opened in the year 2021.
CVC Capital Partners owns the brand and Hardik Pandya will join the team. The team is closed by Ashish Nehra. The Board of Control for Cricket in India permitted each franchise to be bid on by a group of 3 corporations or people.
With a bid of ₹5625 crores, CVC (Corporate Venture Capital) Capital Partners, British private equity, and investment management group acquired the rights to run the Ahmedabad franchise. This bid will be held in Dubai in October 2021. The Ahmedabad franchise announced its unique name as Gujrat Titans on 9th February 2022.
