Indian Premier League, or IPL, is an Indian Cricket tournament, and its main office is located in Mumbai. The first edition of IPL was organized in 2008. This tournament is conducted in seven cities and three states in India.

About IPL
Lalit Modi is the founder, first commissioner, and chairman of IPL. In addition, this league was founded by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in 2007. The current chairman of IPL is Arun Singh Dhumal, who succeeded Brijesh Patel.

New IPL teams 2023
On Oct 25, closed bidding was held, and CVC Capital and RPSG Group won the bids for the two teams. CVC paid 5,200 crores for Ahmadabad, while RPSG won Lucknow for 7,000 crores. The teams were named Gujarat Titans and Lucknow Super Giants.
